I wanted to get my side of the story out there.....
I've been as transparent as possible in all that has occurred with the New Moon Quilt from its inception to it's mailing. It has never been my intention to embarrass anyone. I did want to get even the behind the scenes chit chat out there because there have been so many things called into quesiton.
I know that the entire situation reflects extremely poorly on me as a human being and a quilter. I maintain that the situation reflects poorly on the Twilight Quilters Coven, too--at least the co-leads and those that may lust after that honor since I've left. (Please read my last post.) I was right there in the middle of it all.
Twilight Moms, Events by Alice, and Alex's Lemondade Stand were caught in the crossfire. (I'm sure they're all thinking about what steps to take to address any future situations like securing releases, working with groups with legal standing, etc.)
I don't hold out much hope, but I'm not giving up my fight to get my blocks back.
I'm keep waiting for one brave person to speak up. Perhaps to say: Shannon, you weren't in this alone. You made questionable and wrong decisions, but I was right there with you....
I don't know if I would be ready to sing Kumbaya or to let bygones be bygones, but I would probably be able to move forward.
Everyone keeps marching on, though.
And, like I said, people are pretty entrenched and there is no backing down. They have to believe that I'm totally the bad guy, that I gave those blocks up and retained no rights to them, and that there is no compromise that would in any way involve me getting my blocks back because the quilt is promised for the Utah New Moon Event and tickets as payment or in appreciation are part of that deal. They must feel justified. There certainly will probably never be any admission that anyone other than me handled anything to do with this quilt in an inappropriate or ill-advised manner.
I'm just speculating....
I don't think anyone expected me to put up a fight.
An interested party did contact me about the situation, so may be they will be able to provide some advice or be a voice of reason.
